Learning Spaces: Converted Space for Learning

“The Third Teacher”

Quality pre-school education lays a strong foundation for life-long learning. To nurture children as life-long learners, we need to build their self-confidence, encourage them to explore the world around them and teach them how to regulate their behaviour and emotions, express themselves and get along with others.              -Ministry of Education Singapore

Educational environments have always been applied in learning systems all over the world. By incorporating the Montessori method of education that is based on self-directed activity, hands-on learning and collaborative play, children can make creative choices in their learning, while the classroom and the teacher offer age-appropriate activities to guide the process.

We design the environments where learning is most conducive for each student. By incorporating different educational strategies, we can provide unique learning opportunities that are adaptable across multiple disciplines.

Champion Families in Champions Academy A Special United Nations Celebration

Last October 27, Champions Academy celebrates the United Nations in a very special way. The CA staff together with teachers and students wore their best costumes. While we saw our students having fun with different national costumes, our hearts are more happy to see the overwhelming support of parents before, during, and after the event.

Parents put in their efforts to dress up their kids with different costumes representing the different nations of the world. With a creative program, families brought food representing cuisines from all over the world. In the end, everyone was happy to witness their children in the United Nations presentation.

Everyone is happy.

Through this event, we strengthen our connection with families and friends as they enjoyed the food, fun and games. By fostering a safe, friendly school atmosphere, CA is impacting the lives of the children and their families.

Getting to know parents and family

We congratulate the parents for with a job well done in contributing to the success of the first Champions Academy United Nations Celebration. By doing so, more families have united to form a bigger family in Champions Academy.

“Benchmarking trip to make things better”

Last September 25-27, Champions Academy President Timothy Warden, Principal Bernardlynn Warden and Administrator Roseann Gallardo flew from Manila to Palawan with the purpose of benchmarking to one of the thriving private school namely “Life College”

Meeting the Life College Principal Jan Michael Vincent N. Abril

Our passion is to really “Make things better”. Life College has started offering Early Education Program and through the years God expanded the school to primary and secondary education. Now they are on their way to offer Senior High Educational Tracks. By the grace of God, passion of the school heads, teachers staffs, they envision a produced students who are champions in life.

One of the best things we learn is the importance of unity. Running after one goal and one vision, glues the school administrators, staffs, and the teachers altogether. Running a school is not a one man job, but success can only be achieved by unified efforts of each individual in partnership with the community and parents. All these are for the betterment of the students- molding them become champions in life.

Teacher Malou Gacubo explains how they facilitate learning and do skills assessment with the kids. She said as that “Your passion to make an impact in the lives of the kids by the Grace of God, anchors you to stay and live your purpose as teacher.”

We, Champions Academy started small in number but we envision big for the lives of the students and their families as well. We are learning to run the school day by day, by the grace of God. Implementing changes with school system and administration, looking into curriculum, teachers development and training and also effective communication with the parents. We are looking forward for positive changes through the years of God’s guidance as we open 2nd and 3rd grade by next year. As we be faithful with what we have, we are also thankful that God sees the big future for Champions Academy, its staff and students.

At the end of the day, our joy is to see each kid happy and learned, not only inside the school but most especially confident and asset in their homes and community.

We believe that God has a plan for each of us. We see it coming for each student we have in Champions Academy. Our heart is that Champions Academy serves as a launching pad for these students to fly high and see their purpose in life. We thank God for great opportunities to connect and learn. To God be the glory.

“A student centered learning school”

Classes has never been this fun. Everyday is a joy for us to see the kids excited and happy to start their day. Prayer has been a lifestyle to them. We observed that they are very active in singing songs, which are very effective to integrate learning.  We believe play is also one of the best way to learn, so daily lessons are integrated during playtime as well. We want every student to enjoy every minute and maximize learning with the best resources and facilities that we have.

“CHOICE TIME” – one of the activities that the student do inside the class. Students have freedom to choose what they want to do, either to sleep, read, play or watch educational songs. During this time we see the uniqueness of each student and it gives us more appreciation of their individual differences. Each of them are special in their own way. CHOICE TIME helped us also to determine the most  effective way of the child’s learning process. Some are always in the move, some are auditory and some are visuals. These information are helpful, which we share also with the parents, so that they’ll get to know the best way to encourage and reinforce fun learning process even at home.

Seeing the parents waiting ten (10) mins before class dismissal is also a joy. Seeing the   students with a smile in their faces with excited voices calling their mom/dad as if they have never seen them for a long time became the highlight of our day. They often run towards their parents or guardian with such great joy. This reminds us, how God is so happy to see us and hear us calling His name, Father.
